Along the track…

Today’s prompt…

After our delicious barbeque, we tested our fitness and started up the track to Flinder’s peak. Did we make it? Ah…you’ll have to read tomorrow’s blog ๐Ÿ™‚

You Yangs Regional Park

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Today’s prompt…

Yesterday we visited the You Yangs Regional Park with my son Elijah, girlfriend Eilidh and Eilidh’s mum Dodie and aunt Lorna. A wonderful day – not a cloud in the sky but not too hot. We had to wait a little while for our turn at a barbeque but it was well worth it ๐Ÿ™‚

The park is 22kms north-east of Geelong where they live, about two hours from here.

A Beautiful Gift

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERAย  ??????????????????????

Today’s prompt…

As always we were given many wonderful gifts this Christmas including this very beautiful one from my daughter Jess and partner Jodi.

Fifty-five children wil be immunised from measles and given a better chance at life ๐Ÿ™‚

Ooooops!

knees

Today’s prompt…

There’s usually one in most lots of photos . . . the cut-off heads, the guy at the end of the row left out or a great view of the inside of your camera bag ๐Ÿ™‚

Until my 50,000+ word effort in NaNoWriMo November, my writing output was a long way down on previous years and I’m hoping to do a lot better in 2013. Already I have an idea for a story about a man left off a photo . . . and no need to wait until 2013 to get started! I hope you all find lots of inspiration in the New Year and I hope my mail box is filled with submissions ๐Ÿ™‚

Swapping Cuttings

Red Geranium

Today’s prompt…

I love this Red Geranium ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Two years ago I brought back two cuttings from Jess’ house and gave one to Dad. Last winter mine died in the frost so I’m just waiting for Dad’s to grow big enough for me to take a piece! And Dad and Jess were both eyeing off my latest plant when they were here before Christmas and putting in their orders for cuttings once it grows ๐Ÿ™‚ Elijah and Pip both have geraniums in their gardens, too, and my Mother-in-Law often gives me cuttings.

And, of course, I often manage to sneak a geranium or two into my stories ๐Ÿ™‚

You can never have too many Geraniums!

Fushia

Fushia

Today’s prompt…

This beautiful Fushia looks magnificent on Mum and Dad’s verandah ๐Ÿ™‚

We’ve just seenย film of the Boxing Day sales rush on television . . . after driving nearly 600kms yesterday, I’d rather be taking it easy here at home especially as we have a week of hot weather ahead and still no hint of rain. If you heard strange noises in the distance last night, it was me, zipping along in the Yellow Lancer, singing (screeching) at the top of my lungs to keep awake and no servos or McDonalds open on the back roads to stop for a break (and toilet!). I don’t like to stop at dark, gloomy public toilets at night on my own. I drove ‘the back way’ rather than through Melbourne, thinking it would be better with less traffic but although it was okay on the way to Pip’s house,ย  on the way home after darkย those narrow, windy roads were not so attractive, and it seemed a lot of other drivers chose the same route, most driving a lot faster than me ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

Please beam me there next time, Scotty . . .
