For Creative Writers Everywhere…

Back to…Echuca :)

Echuca has featured several times on this blog after visiting with Rod, and with Elijah & Eilihd, and yesterday I returned to visit the Campaspe Murray Writers Group.

Another wonderful group of writers who made me very welcome. A perfect mix of fun and friendship, inspiration and encouragement, a diverse range of interpretations on the ‘homework’ . . . a great night!

I am thoroughly enjoying meeting with groups to tell them about Positive Words magazine and, in turn, get back amazing encouragement and personal inspiration. Email me if you’d like a guest speaker/visitor and I will do my best to visit, or add your group to ‘The List’ if you are further afield. Who knows what the future holds? šŸ™‚

The photo shows paddle steamers on the Murray River. I didn’t take any photos yesterday but this is one I ‘prepared earlier’ Ā šŸ™‚

  1. It’s so great there are so many writing groups over there, Lancer…so much opportunity to “strut your stuff”!

Love this image of the river steamer…so like the shore of our great Mississippi, with the same ‘muddy-looking’ waters. Have you eaten at the “Cruising a la carte” restaurant?

    • I really miss attending regular writing groups as I did for many years but having the chance to visit new groups has been wonderful. Each group has made me very, very welcome and the inspiration I receive back from the visits goes a long way!
The paddle steamers are an amazing sight and I imagine whether here in Australia or along the Mississippi, we all imagine bygone days when they were the main means of transport. We haven’t taken a trip yet or eaten at one of the restaurants but it’s on our ‘one day’ list. Perhaps for a special anniversary as we got married at Echuca šŸ™‚

Hello Sandra. Please consider yourself the recipient of an open invitation to visit us in Devonport at any time. We are The Mersey Writing Group, named after the river that runs through our city and is home to the Spirit of Tasmania ferry terminal. We would be delighted to have you visit as a guest speaker but I feel we will be allocated to your future list due to the expanse of water that separates your state and ours. Nevertheless I look forward to making your acquaintance at some time in the not too distant future.

  3. Thanks Philomena. I am reminded of that old ad ‘It won’t happen overnight but it WILL happen’ šŸ™‚ I last visited Tasmania when I was about 9 years old so am definitely due for a return!
