Sunday barbecue :)

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

We’ve been enjoying beautiful sunny days lately, topped off with a barbecue lunch beside Lake Nagambie yesterday.

We couldn’t find a public barbecue but Rod remembered his portable model . . . perfect for two 🙂

Peppercorn trees

What a magnificent tree!

Birdwatching

Last weekend and the weekend before, we thrilled to see large flocks of Black Cockatoos in nearby Heathcote and flying over our house.

I love Black Cockatoos 🙂

I’m hoping we’re lucky again this weekend!

Oh, to be a child again 🙂

April Mini-competition results

Thank you to all who entered the April Mini-competition.

You can find the results here:  Positive Words April 2013 Mini

Congratulations to the winners and I hope everyone is inspired by this month’s word – LEFTOVER/S. Entries need to be posted by 30 June 2013.

I’ve been having trouble sending out the results by email; perhaps it’s an anti-spam thing as although I include all the names/addresses in Bcc when I send they disappear. I haven’t had this trouble before but, hopefully, I’ve managed to send them all individually!

Reflections

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

I had to take this photo from a fair distance rather than spook the Ibis’ but love the way they are reflected in our dam 🙂

I think there will be much reflecting in Canberra today!

A Splash of Colour

Among the branches in the Valley of Liquid Ambers, Heathcote, beautiful Crimson Rosellas 🙂

While the billy boils

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Not far from the piles of bones and old gold diggings we found an old billy lid. Did the owner abandon it after striking it rich or did he simply forget it? Perhaps he used the billy to carry away his haul 🙂

Graveyard

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Dotted through the forests near here are piles of bones 😦

I suspect they are dumped by farmers disposing of dead stock and it’s always a relief to see animal skulls amid the piles rather than something more sinister!

I think this prompt might inspire a mystery or horror story . . . or perhaps a twist or two 🙂

Windy Weather

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

This weekend we have frost and still, sunny days but last weekend we had the kind of strong, biting wind that went through you rather than around . . . but although it made it unpleasant for some, these sailors on Lake Eppalock enjoyed racing across the waves 🙂
