Despite most places being very busy yesterday, we found a lovely quiet park in Drouin and enjoyed a Father’s Day barbeque with my Dad and Pip. Drouin is a pretty town set among scenic hills. Pip works there, so it was an ideal meeting place as he had to start his shift mid-afternoon.
Although tinged with sadness, as my brother died on Father’s Day twenty-one years ago, it’s always great to make new, very special memories 🙂
After our delicious barbeque, we tested our fitness and started up the track to Flinder’s peak. Did we make it? Ah…you’ll have to read tomorrow’s blog 🙂
Yesterday we visited the You Yangs Regional Park with my son Elijah, girlfriend Eilidh and Eilidh’s mum Dodie and aunt Lorna. A wonderful day – not a cloud in the sky but not too hot. We had to wait a little while for our turn at a barbeque but it was well worth it 🙂
The park is 22kms north-east of Geelong where they live, about two hours from here.
