Rural Living

Today’s writing prompt:

“Let’s escape to the country!”

No prizes for guessing what I’m watching on TV tonight 🙂

Eerie

Today’s writing prompt:

Crop circles.

Back on the horse

Today’s prompt . . .

It was time to get back on the horse.

Giddy up 🙂

All the colours of the Rainbow

Another prompt to inspire some colourful stories 🙂

Enjoying a perfect sunny winter day here in my garden. It doesn’t look quite like the garden center above but working towards it!

Someone’s not talking to me 🙂

Mother Nature

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

We saw this fascinating tree not far from our home and the huge slab of thick bark that’s fallen off.

My NaNo story is still going well . . . I’m on target and although I will have to go back and strip off a few layers here and there, the basic stuff is solid 🙂

I feared this year I would struggle but it has actually proved a very welcome and productive distraction!

New Neighbours

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Our neighbours-across-the-road have Alpacas but I rarely see them near the front of the property. A couple of days ago I noticed them peeping over the fence as I did some mowing but by the time I raced (well, sort of lolloped, scrambled, jogged!) back to the house to get my camera they’d moved 😦

But I took a photo anyway 🙂

Leaning…

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

The Australian rural landscape is dotted with hay sheds like this one, leaning one way or another but lasting through each new season.

Restoration Project

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

I always wonder when I see old cars abandoned . . . did the owners plan to restore them to their former glory but lost motivation, didn’t have the cash or never found time?

A bit like some of our literary projects 😦

Brooding

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Even though there are three perfectly good nests in the pen, this hen preferred to lay her eggs right in the doorway and has now gone broody. I’m very careful where I step when I collect the rest of the eggs 🙂
