A Very Welcome Stranger!

SAMSUNG DIGITAL CAMERA

Today’s prompt…

A replica of the Welcome Stranger gold nugget at the Maryborough Information Centre. The Welcome Stranger is the largest alluvial gold nuggest found and was discovered just 3 centimetres below the surface on 5 February 1869 at Moliagul by John Deason and Richard Oates.

Wow! I’m more than willing to welcome any of this stranger’s relatives 🙂

Today’s prompt…

We enjoyed our ‘Sunday drive’ so much the previous weekend that we headed off again (west of Bendigo) yesterday 🙂

I think this magnificent hotel in Maryborough would have seen many successful gold miners at its bar over the years. And…perhaps a few not-so-successful ones drowning their sorrows!

Imagine the stories 🙂

Treasures

Today’s prompt…

Rod and I love exploring our local area and beyond and yesterday we travelled north-west to Inglewood and the surrounding district. So much to see, from the fascinating antique shops to the natural landscape. We can’t wait to go again!
