I loved the peace andΒ serenity of the Lerderderg State park but the strange quiet in our house is hard to get used to.

Elijah and Eilidh are back home and yesterday we met at Bacchus Marsh so they could take Bella home. They had to get back for some visitors so Rod and I enjoyed a picnic lunch at the beautiful nearby park. Despite the cool, cloudy weather there were lots of walkers and fellow picnickers. We’ll definitely go back, perhaps meet up for a barbeque and walk with Elijah and Eilihd πŸ™‚

But this morning our house seems very quiet without Bella 😦

Better Days

Today’s prompt…

I guess this picnic table has seen better days . . .

Horseshoe Bend Walhalla

Today’s prompt…

This one was taken a few years ago at Horseshoe Bend, Walhalla, about twenty-five kilometres from my old home. I loved visiting Walhalla, an historic gold-mining town and just perfect for a picnic beside the peaceful creek running thorugh the town. (Obviously not this one!)

Picnic by the Yarra River

Today’s prompt…another picnic table. No ants but the Magpies were quick to arrive, hoping for some crumbs. Rod says the bush telegraph has been active and the Magpies I feed on our doorstep most days must have sent word we’d be in the area:)

After picking up a couple of items in Melbourne yesterday {heavy traffic and not the clearest directions for one of them 😦 }, we enjoyed a relaxing picnic lunch beside the Yarra River at Westerfolds Park. A beautiful place, a peaceful haven despite busy roads nearby. Lots of parking and facilites – we’ll be back!

Today I’m finishing up the June issue of Positive Words which will include the first story in the new feature – My Town.I hope it will inspire many more writers to contribute a poem or story about their town. (check previous post for details)

We had a huge frost this morning but the sun is streaming through the windows now, so it looks like another beautiful day ahead πŸ™‚

Picnics

Today’s prompt…

A perfect day for a picnic πŸ™‚

This was was at Echuca and looking back at it makes me wonder how many picnic tables there are in Victoria? Australia? Throughout the world? That’s a lot of sandwiches πŸ™‚
