Great reading and inspiration. Stories, poetry, articles, writing prompts, competitions etc…
As I write this, the social isolation restrictions have only been in place for a short time but already several people have contacted me saying how much they miss their writing groups. Me, too 😦 We are emailing and phoning to try and keep in touch and I’ve continued to email our ‘lesson/homework’ sheets out so we stay inspired.
Some years ago I offered weekly lesson sheets/prompts in exchange for unused stamps (to help with the postage costs each month for the magazine) and many people enjoyed them. If anyone missing their writing group inspiration would like me to start this again, I can offer a weekly sheet via email or snail-mailed with ideas and exercises – one postage stamp ($1.10) per sheet or the equivalent (direct deposit etc).
Despite having much more time to write now, often we need that extra encouragement or incentive so please contact me if you would like to be a part of this. Email – firstname.lastname@example.org or snail mail – Sandra James, PO Box 798, Heathcote 3523 Victoria.
Just a reminder that entries need to be mailed by 31 October 2018. It doesn’t matter if they don’t arrive by then as long as you get them in the mailbox by the closing date.
Thank you everyone for all the support 🙂
Bear in mind that I am not very Facebook savvy but I have started a page for Positive Words magazine. Hopefully, I will be able to post information, competition results etc and reach more writers.
Check it out and let me know what you think 🙂
Sincere thanks to everyone who entered the Positive Words 2018 Short Story & Poetry Competition. Congratulations to the winners, place-getters, short-listed entries and everyone else for the excellent and inspiring efforts.
Here are the results: Results
I hope you will all support future competitions. Our next major competition is the Positive Words 2018 End-of-Year Short Story & Poetry Competition: Entry form
My apologies to everyone for the slow arrival of the December issue. I was a few days late getting it to the printer after the flash flood that inundated our house, but after two weeks it still isn’t ready for collection and I suspect a very busy workload close to Christmas and perhaps the flood that hit Euroa, where Positive Words is printed, two weeks after our flood might have slowed things as well. Hopefully, it won’t be too far away and I have the envelopes all stamped and addressed ready to post as soon as I pick up the copies.
And, the January issue is almost complete and ready to be sent to the printer. They close down over Christmas/New Year so I’m hoping it will be printed before then and able to be sent out in time to give everyone some relaxing summer reading.
Thanks everyone for your understanding 🙂
