Fortunately, the rabbits aren’t being as destructive this year toward our plants and trees (although they are still making their presence known) but the rabbit burrows seem to be growing. I wish I could see underground 🙂

This rabbit was one of the many exhibits in the Scarecrow competition at the Rushworth Easter Festival yesterday 🙂
A rabbit plague 😦
Friends from all over the country tell me they have the same problem and we saw these bait stations at Mt Korong, near Inglewood, on the weekend. Sorry Bugs, Jessica and Easter, your kith and kin are taking over and drastic measures are necessary!
They eat our potatoes, rhubarb, geraniums, succulents, strawberries and pretty much anything else we try to grow, ring-bark our fruit trees and stand on tippy-toe to take all the bottom leaves and branches . . . then relax in the shade of our water tank in the heat of the afternoon. Oh yes, they look cute but these days my sympathy definitely lies with Mr McGregor rather than little Peter Rabbit!
Often when I’m getting water from the dam this hare pops out of the undergrowth . . . I’m not sure who gets the biggest fright!
