My apologies for the late posting of results. Amongst the chaos during our house repairs I’m afraid quite a few things have been delayed or neglected but the house is finally back to its old self and I am endeavouring to unpack all the boxes that were hastily stowed last year and get back to some kind of order!
Please find the results here : Results
And…for those who want to enter the next competition please find an entry form here: Entry form Cover sheets are also accepted in lieu of an entry form 🙂 Entries need to be posted by 23 April, not necessarily received by then to allow for the sometimes erratic postal delivery 🙂
Thank you everyone 🙂
Apologies to everyone waiting for the competition results and/or latest magazines. First the flash flood and last week I broke my ankle, followed by bad reactions to pain medication which has slowed me down a little. Just a little! The results will be posted in the next couple of days and any remaining magazines posted. Thanks everyone for your understanding 🙂
I can’t drive as it’s my right foot so have to wait until someone drives me or at least takes the mail. And…at last I have builders here starting on the repairs to our flood damaged house. Still a way to go but I’m sure by the time my ankle heals it will be a distant memory 🙂
I’m feeling much better than I did this time last week and am once again making up for lost time, all with the background hammering, sawing and banging 🙂
Just a reminder – entries for the September Mini-competition featuring the word COACH need to be posted by 30 September (Saturday)
Details here: mini themes 2017
Thank you everyone for the support 🙂
Just a reminder that competition entries need to be posted by 23 April – don’t worry that they won’t arrive by that date, as long as you post them by then. The postmark will probably have the date on it but even if it is illegible, I’m sure they will be posted on time 🙂
Auspost is not so reliable – I’ve just had a small parcel take five days to travel 50kms (Heathcote to Bendigo) with tracking. Needless to say I will allow plenty of time for all entries to arrive before judging begins.
Thanks for all the support – much appreciated!
Many people have been asking if the stories, poems and articles in Positive Words magazine and entered into the competitions have to be ‘positive’. NO!
The ‘positive’ in the title refers to the act of doing something positive with your work i.e. getting it out there, submitting it to a magazine, anthology or publisher, entering it into a competition etc. Be proud of your work and what you’ve achieved whether it’s a happy story or poem, a sad one, reflective, horror, dramatic…whatever your preferred genre.
Competition finalists and winners are selected on merit, not genre.
Over the years we’ve had a wide variety of genres in both the monthly print issue and entered in the competitions…go for it!
Thank you once again for all the entries and a thoroughly enjoyable job in reading them to select a winner. This month I have divided the prize between two entries, one from Jenny Eddy, the other from Jayni Lai (6). Well done! The decision was a very close one with many excellent entries and interpretations.
You can find the results here: Positive Words February 2016 Mini
Once again – ‘Thank you’ everyone for your entries in the Positive Words November Mini-competition – I really appreciate the support and hope you will all continue to enter the mini-competitions.
Congratulations to the equal November winners – Yvonne Deering and Jodi Titley!
